Shingon Shōmyō Symphony
"Shingon Shōmyō Symphony"

This original and unique Unissograff cut and sew T-Shirt donates towards the social rehabilitation of former child soldiers in Uganda, the educational support and welfare of children living in villages by the minefields of Cambodia, and educational support for children in Tohoku, Japan, affected by the 2011 earthquake and tsunami.

The design is entitled "Shingon Shōmyō Symphony".
It is based on the artistry of a 4-frame sliding paper door which was dedicated by Unissograff to the Mt Koya Ekoin Temple, a sacred site of the Buddhist Shingon sect.

20% of the net proceeds from your purchase is donated to NPO Terra Renaissance which works locally to support children in Uganda and Cambodia, as well as supporting children who live in the Tohoku region that was devastated during the Great East Japan Earthquake.
The artwork is a collage created from the drawings of children in conflict-stricken Uganda and Cambodia, the disaster-afflicted areas of East Japan, as well as the children of Mt Koya itself, and it depicts the form of the Dainichi Nyorai (Vairocana) Buddha.

Unissograff is art that would be incomplete without children.

This mystical and distinct design makes for a unique men's T-shirt that really stands out and makes a statement.
Designed exclusively by Unissograff artist ca37, it is hand-made in London.

200GSM SOFT FASHION JERSEY

This jersey fabric is a weightier option, for those wanting a slightly heavier t-shirt. It also has more opaque base than other jersey options and a more elasticated give, with almost a double stretch attribute. The jersey is a breathable fabric, making it great for both casual and sportswear.

245GSM FLUID VELOUR

245GSM FLUID VELOUR

High-stretch fabric with a ripple and shine. This knitted fabric is a plush material with a sheen and mesh-like construct. It has a short pile with a super-soft face and a soft touch back for a smooth, delicate feeling on the skin. Ideal for clothing with a slight glisten when it catches the light.

Terra Renaissance logo image

Unissograff™ generates funding to support the education and well-being of children in the minefield villages of Cambodia, and the social rehabilitation of young people who were engaged as child soldiers in the civil conflicts of Uganda.

Currently all donations generated by artwork created from the rakugaki drawings made by children in Cambodia and Uganda are made to Terra Renaissance, an officially certified NPO organisation based in Kyoto which stations its people on the ground in the Kingdom of Cambodia and the Republic of Uganda to actively support the people of these aforementioned areas.

This way we know that our donations are 100% used for the purpose with which they were intended, supporting the areas they were intended for.

Terra, means "earth" in Latin, while Renaissance refers to "regeneration, reconstruction" in English. The name "Terra Renaissance" therefore represents "revival and revitalisation."

They aim to address the four issues of "land mines", "small weapons", "child soldiers", and "peace education" by simultaneously operating international cooperation at sites around the world while conducting enlightenment and proposal activities in Japan.

NPO Baby smile logo image

The origins of Unissograff™ can be found in the aftermath of the Great East Japan Earthquake which occurred on 11th March 2011 and we continue to donate to charities that work tirelessly to support mothers and children that are still affected even now, some ten years on.

Stranded boat in Tohoku after the tsunami

Some of these donations are made to NPO Baby Smile Ishinomaki, who jointly managed Rakugaki Art workshops with Unisograff in Ishinomaki, Miyagi prefecture.

Unissograff artist ca37 presenting artwork to people in Tohoku

Baby smile Ishinomaki is an aid organisation formed for the victims of the earthquake and tsunami by a mother of two who was herself a victim of the disaster, having experienced the horrors while still pregnant with her second baby (her older child was only two years old at the time).

Initially, right after the disaster, their aid focused on providing support to the pregnant women and mothers with babies up to pre-school age who were living in neighbouring area of Ishinomaki, a coastal fishing town in Miyagi prefecture which suffered devastating damage.
They continue today, offering emotional and parenting support for mothers in the region, many of whom remain in temporary housing, who are still affected by those traumatic events and the hardships that followed.
