015 "Shingon Shōmyō Symphony" framed print for UGANDA/CAMBODIA/TOHOKU
An 8-frame (double-sided 4 frame) artwork sliding paper door, presented to the Mt Koya Ekoin Temple, a sacred site of the Buddhist Shingon sect. Inspired by the ideology of the Shingon sect and its central prayer for world peace, this is an exclusive contemporary Buddhist art-piece by Unissograff artist ca37.
Dainichi Nyorai, the principal deity of the Shingon Buddhist sect, illuminates the world of all those tormented by sin and poverty and conflict.
The central character perhaps resembles a dragon or a demon, and yet is also a symbol of our own spirit.
After all, flowers still bloom amongst such anguish and a sense of purity remains.
Paradise may be far away.
But does happiness blossom closer to us than we think?
"Shingon Shōmyō Symphony" is an artistic interpretation of its theme, the inspiriting sacred chants ("Shōmyō") of the Shingon sect monks, "Mt Koya, Light of 1200 years".
The enchanting design was created by collaging the rakugaki drawings and paintings, based on the themes of 'hometown' and 'peace', made by children in Uganda, Cambodia and Tohoku, together with drawings by Unissograff artist ca37.

[Donations generated by Asian and African artwork]
Unissograff™ generates funding to support the education and well-being of children in the minefield villages of Cambodia, and the social rehabilitation of young people who were engaged as child soldiers in the civil conflicts of Uganda.
Additionally, we are pleased to announce that in 2022 we have added support for children in Laos, the most heavily bombed country in the world.
Currently all donations generated by artwork created from the rakugaki drawings made by children in Cambodia, Laos and Uganda are made to Terra Renaissance, an officially certified NPO organisation based in Kyoto which stations its people on the ground in the Kingdom of Cambodia, Lao People's Democratic Republic and the Republic of Uganda to actively support the people of these aforementioned areas.
This way we know that our donations are 100% used for the purpose with which they were intended, supporting the areas they were intended for.

Certified NPO Terra Renaissance was established in October 2001 with the aim of "realizing a society (world peace) where all lives can exist in safety and peace".
Terra, means "earth" in Latin, while Renaissance refers to "regeneration, reconstruction" in English. The name "Terra Renaissance" therefore represents "revival and revitalisation."
They aim to address the four issues of "land mines", "small weapons", "child soldiers", and "peace education" by simultaneously operating international cooperation at sites around the world while conducting enlightenment and proposal activities in Japan.

[Donations generated by Tohoku artwork]
The origins of Unissograff™ can be found in the aftermath of the Great East Japan Earthquake which occurred on 11th March 2011 and we continue to donate to charities that work tirelessly to support mothers and children that are still affected even now, some ten years on.
Some of these donations are made to NPO Baby Smile Ishinomaki, who jointly managed Rakugaki Art workshops with Unisograff in Ishinomaki, Miyagi prefecture.
Baby smile Ishinomaki is an aid organisation formed for the victims of the earthquake and tsunami by a mother of two who was herself a victim of the disaster, having experienced the horrors while still pregnant with her second baby (her older child was only two years old at the time).
Initially, right after the disaster, their aid focused on providing support to the pregnant women and mothers with babies up to pre-school age who were living in neighbouring area of Ishinomaki, a coastal fishing town in Miyagi prefecture which suffered devastating damage.
They continue today, offering emotional and parenting support for mothers in the region, many of whom remain in temporary housing, who are still affected by those traumatic events and the hardships that followed.
