The civil war may have ended, but still the feeling of peace seems far off...
Republic of Uganda, East Africa.
To create this work, Unissograff artist ca37 travelled to the city of Gulu, scene of many fierce battles in the north of the Republic of Uganda, to visit certified NPO Terra Renaissance who work to support the social rehabilitation of former child soldiers and their families there.
At their support centre, together they held a Rakugaki Art workshop based on the theme of "what do I want when peace comes?".
The artwork design "Peace gathering" was created from a collage of some hundred or more genuine heart-felt offerings shared by the children there.
Regardless of how simple each drawing may be on its own, can you not but just feel their combined energy?!
Even in those places overshadowed by conflict, children still cheerfully wish for a bright future.
Hopefully that message shines through this piece.
This beautiful digital framed print is hand prepared to order by craftsmen in London, UK (please expect up to one week for delivery).*¹
Unissograff is art that would be incomplete without children.
20% of the net proceeds generated from each purchase is donated towards the support activities of the African office of Certified NPO Terra Renaissance, who jointly managed the Rakugaki Art workshops with Unissograff artist ca37 in Uganda.
